4 Things you should include on your Save the Date Cards

Your wedding date is set and your guest list is complete. Save the date cards are a great way to tell your friends and family they’re officially on the guest list for your big day.

If you have not figured out all the details of your wedding that is fine, as long as you know the following 4 pieces of information you have everything you need.

1. THE DATE Let your guests know the exact date of your wedding! If you are planning a destination wedding or a celebration that lasts more than a single day, indicate the entire weekend so your guests can make travel and accommodation plans.

2. YOUR NAMES If you're planning a casual wedding first names are fine. If you are having a traditional wedding use your full names.

3. THE LOCATION You will need to include the city and state of where your wedding will be held. You can also include the name of your venue, but leave the exact address for the invitation.

4. FORMAL INVITATION TO FOLLOW Some guests will mistake a save the date for the actual invitation, so let them know it is a save the date, by adding an extra line that notes a formal invitation is on its way.

Your Save the Dates do not have to match the rest of your invitation suite, so you can have fun with the design.
